CATALOGING COMMITTEE CHARGE AND MEMBERSHIP

CHARGE:
MEMBERSHIP:
The chair of the Cataloging Committee is selected by the membership for a one year term beginning on January 1. Members represent units that are directly engaged in cataloging functions or directly interact with procedures associated with those functions. The Cataloging Committee is composed of the following individuals:
- Head, Metadata Services Department
- Metadata Services Department Division and Heads of all units other than Metadata Analysis and Specification Unit
- Cataloging Data Coordinator
- Shared Cataloging Program Coordinator
and liaisons from the following groups:
- Acquisitions Committee
- Public Services
- Image Catalogers
- Special Collections Technical Services
Meetings are open, and guest participants or observers are welcome from all departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Call and conduct meetings
- Develop agenda with input from members
- Form and monitor task groups
- Update Cataloging Committee web site
- Distribute agendas, minutes, and reports to the following mailing lists and individuals:
- Cataloging Committee
- Catalogers
- INNOPAC Coordinator/Liaisons
- AUL Collection Services
- Head, Acquisitions Department
- Represent the interests and needs of their units and report back to them
- Identify problems or issues for discussion
- Inform the group of procedures operating within their units
- Contribute to discussions and accept assignments
- Coordinate minutes of the meeting on a rotating basis (liaisons are exempt from this requirement)
