            SPECIAL COLLECTIONS CATALOGING PROCEDURE

               HILL COLLECTION OF PACIFIC VOYAGES

Reviewed Nov 17, 1998 by Richard Lindemann

510 All books listed in the published bibliography of the Hill
     Collection contain a title/volume/page citation, e.g.:

     Ex: 510 4 Hill Collection of Pacific Voyages, |c I, p. 178
     Ex: 510 4 Hill Collection of Pacific Voyages, |c II, p. 363

For all books acquired since the bibliography was published,
add the following note to the first item record (these notes
will be used to compile a listing, via a boolean search on
INNOPAC, of Hill books to be described in a fourth volume of
     the bibliography):

     590 Not in Hill bibliography

655 Always add travel-oriented genre terms when they are
appropriate to a book's content. Terms of particular
     interest for Hill books include:

          Diaries Logs
          Exploration literature Overland journals
          Imaginary voyages Travel literature
          Letters

730 Add the following title added entry to all records for Hill
materials (this tracing makes it possible to do an online
INNOPAC search for all books in Hill), being careful to omit
it from the OCLC master record on original inputs:

730 01 Hill Collection of Pacific Voyages.
