Codes for Print Resources

COP: Copy cataloging (monographs and serials)

TC: Title change (serials only)

IN: I level new input (monographs and serials)

AC: Added copy (monographs and serials)

ENH: Monographic OCLC enhance (counts as both copy cataloging and enhance)

AM: Accompanying materials (processing materials that accompany serials requiring a separate item record)

REC: Recataloging (recataloging activities such as withdrawing monographs to recatalog as serials, etc. Does not include title changes)

 

 

Codes for Electronic Resources

AEV: Added electronic version (for use with composite records)

CFC: Electronic resource copy cataloging (monographs and serials)

CFN: Electronic resource new input (monographs and serials)

CDL: CDL cloned record

ENH: Monographic OCLC enhance (counts as both copy cataloging and enhance)


Codes to Be Used in Conjunction with Other Autostat Codes

SA: Subject analysis (add LC call number, classification number, and/or >650s)

CEH: CONSER enhance (for national level serials including electronic)

SEH: Non-CONSER serial OCLC enhance for related records (changes to authenticated records for all member contributed serials including electronic)

CCA: Copy CONSER authentication (authentication of OCLC member copy)

OCA: Original CONSER authentication (creation of an original, CONSER authenticated master record in OCLC)

SCA: Subsequent CONSER authentication (upgrading a lower level CONSER authenticated record to a higher level CONSER authenticated record, e.g., upgrading "msc" or "nsdp" to "lcd")

 

 

Codes to be used alone (i.e., NOT to Be Used in Conjunction with Other Autostat Codes)

MNH: Monographic OCLC enhance (enhance not associated with other cataloging activities, e.g., adding a 086 field to record)

CORR: Maintenance (any "stand alone" changes made to existing bibliographic records)

 

 

Examples:

If you do subject analysis on a newly received CONSER print serial, enhance the master record and export to Innopac, then your autostat codes would be:

If you do subject analysis on a member copy record, add an 856 field, and also authenticated it, your autostat code would be:
