Object profiles and specifications help ensure digital assets meet minimum requirements and are interoperable before being imported into the Digital Asset Management System (DAMS). A profile is a set of rules and requirements for a class of digital assets such as electronic theses and dissertations. An object specification is the blueprint for combining a data producer’s content files and metadata into a single digital object conformant to an object profile. Thus, each object profile will require a different object specification for each data provider.
Below is a list of profiles that have been created by the UCSD Libraries:
