Metadata guidelines and policies

 

Metadata requirements are essential for ensuring interoperability of the Libraries’ digital assets. Although, too many metadata requirements can place undue burden on the data providers. Therefore, the Libraries' metadata requirements will be kept to a minimum while still balancing the need for basic management, discovery and interpretation of the assets. Below are the primary types of metadata and the minimal requirements recommended for each.
