Building Access Policy for Students
|
Just a reminder that student employees may be in staff areas of library buildings only during their scheduled work shifts or library-sponsored events. When student employees are studying or using the libraries on their own time they should use the public areas accessible to all patrons. The full Employee Access to Libraries Buildings policy is available at http://gort.ucsd.edu/LSST/access.pdf
As background, this issue typically arises during finals when our students are competing for study space. Unfortunately with 300+ library student employees at any given time, it's not feasible to allow use of staff work space or break rooms during their off hours; nor would it be equitable to grant access to just a few. Please pass this reminder on to any student employees you supervise.
