Note that there are some unresolved issues at the moment about where
the UGL/Playback laserdiscs (and videotapes) should reside. We are
waiting for written clarification from Stephen but expect that the UGL
media collections will be frozen and that all these materials will be added
to FVL.
- On OCLC: Re-search laserdisc on OCLC to verify that the correct (and best) copy has been exported on to InnoPac. Use the qualifier /vis in your OCLC search. When you identify the right record, update holdings on OCLC. (If the wrong record is on Pac you may need to overlay, or export and transfer).
- On Pactech: Add cat date to InnoPac fixed field, and verify correct branch and mat type codes (Mat type = a). Complete item record:
- For call number, keep track of the latest FVLD number used, but re-search InnoPac in case someone else has used it in the meantime! Be aware that the accession numbers do not file in the sequential way you’d expect them to. Use the format 099 FVLD|a170-1 (as an example). Even if two laserdiscs are in a set, the “appended” number should be “-1" because this is one physical container.
- Input barcode into record, but tape to front of laserdisc for EV to apply. Use one-ups.
- Use your regular item note for autostats.
- Item location: fk
Item type: 42
Status: I
- On Pactech: Check the bib record to see if anything else needs to be added (special notes or numbers, e.g., letterbox format). Check to make sure all prominent names have added entries, but don’t go too far in adding (director, main actors, other notable names). Delete relator codes or terms ($e and $4). Perform authority verification on all personal and corporate names, making sure that authority records with cross references are present in InnoPac.
- Hand deliver to Adela in EV for label printing, EV, and delivery to the FVL.
