Combining Multiple Formats of Textual Materials on a Single Record
Exceptions to the UCSD Libraries' Policy

The official policy on when to combine formats for textual materials onto a single record can be found at:

Below is a list of record packages that do not conform to the policy because of processing implications

• American Periodical Series
  • We use the microform record with the GMD removed
  • We will potentially combine with print but only when encountered
  • Search under series "American periodical series"
    
    
• Early English Books Online
  • We have not loaded records yet, but will use records for the electronic reproduction when we do
  • We will not combine with the print and microform records
    
    
• HeritageQuest
  • We are creating records for the electronic reproduction as a WorldCat set
  • We do not combine with print at all
  • Search under series "Genealogy and local history"
    
    
• U.S. Serials Set
  • We have not loaded records yet, but will use records for the electronic reproduction when we do
  • We will not combine with the print and microform records
