DEFINITIONS OF SKILL AND LEVELS OF KNOWLEDGE
Skill
Skill is defined as the ability to use one's knowledge effectively and readily
in the performance of a task. It is a developed ability.
Familiarity
Familiarity requires a general understanding of rules, procedures, policies,
or workflows applicable to the position. Familiarity may require daily application
of selected, well-defined rules or procedures. Familiarity generally requires
only occasional consultation of rules or tools.
Working Knowledge
Working knowledge requires in-depth knowledge of rules, procedures, policies,
or workflows applicable to the position. Working knowledge requires independent
daily application of all applicable rules and procedures. Working knowledge
may require routine consultation of rules and tools.
Detailed Knowledge
Detailed knowledge requires superior knowledge of rules, procedures, policies,
